We have just started the spring semester, and plans are already being made for the upcoming year of the Poquoson High School Band. Part of this important preparation focuses on the recruitment of our new members who are completing their middle school training. Therefore, we want to begin an early communication with you, the parents, to ensure all those involved in instrumental music will have a positive transition to the high school program.

We would like to invite you to a coffee meeting on May 13, 2006 at 10:00AM at the high school.  This meeting is open to all current Poquoson Middle School 8th grade band parents.  Even if you did not pre-register your son or daughter for band at the high school next year, please make plans to come!  Information that will be presented may alleviate any concerns you may have about your son or daughter continuing with  band next year.  This will also be your first opportunity to meet me and members of our booster executive board.  We will be discussing our program in detail and giving you information about band camp, uniform fittings, rehearsal schedules, performance schedules and the booster program.

If you are not available on this date, please give me a call at the high school from 9:00AM and 10:00AM at 868-7123 and I will be happy to answer any of your questions.  I am looking forward to working with each of you and your son or daughter. I feel next year's entering class will bring a new level of excellence to our ensemble.
