Battle of the Books?
Battle of the Books is
designed to stimulate children's interest in reading,
expose students to high quality reading, and foster
school spirit. The competition is patterned after the
old College Bowl. Factual questions are asked on a
specific list of books. Teams use a buzzer board in the
competition in order to be recognized to answer the
questions correctly for team points.
Poquoson Middle
School and the Poquoson Public Library will be
sponsoring the Battle of the Books Program for PMS
students again this year. Four students will be
selected as team members and two as alternates.
Individuals will be selected on the basis of their test
and quiz scores, creating their own questions,
performance at afternoon competitions, and attendance at
practices.
